Drishat Shalom Project
All over Israel, on street posts and bus stops, you can see short quotes and sayings that have become part of the landscape. These stickers are more than just words. They are reminders and calls to action: “Be good,” “Live for me,” “Have fun,” “Don’t forget to smile when you wake up.” Over time, they have spread beyond Israel and now appear in cities around the world, left by Israeli travelers as a living reminder of their loved ones’ legacy. The Drishat Shalom project grew out of a deep wish to continue the legacy of those who fell, who left behind guiding signs for life. We took these stickers and turned them into values to live by. Instead of memory staying as something fixed and unmoving, we made it into a living language, an ongoing conversation, a bridge between past and future. When we look at their faces, read their names, and remember the mottos they lived by, the message becomes clear. They are calling us to act, to turn these values into a living compass for Israeli society. We stick to their path.
Vision
Our vision is to strengthen Israel’s social resilience by building a shared network of values that connects people. The stickers, carrying phrases that reflect the lives and spirit of the fallen, offer a unique source of inspiration and meaning. In today’s difficult reality, they serve as a light that shows a way toward connection, belonging, and a stronger society. Through this project, bereaved families can feel that their loved ones are not only a memory from the past, but also a force that continues to guide the present. Their values live on through the daily actions of thousands of people who choose to embrace them. We believe that when someone carries the words “Be good” or “Unity is our strength,” not as empty slogans but as living values, real change can happen. The values that once lived in the hearts of the fallen become a lasting treasure for all of society. In the end, Drishat Shalom is not only about remembering the past. It is about looking ahead, toward an Israeli society that is stronger, more united, and guided by values, a society that builds its future on the rich legacy of those who are no longer with us.
Our Partners Along the Way
The "Drishat Shalom" project was established in collaboration with Hilma - Tech for Impact, Yad LaBanim Organization, Mako, and with the help of many good people who joined the vision. We thank Hagit Moses who requested to give life to the values emerging from the stickers and helped develop the content, Eli Weisburt who was a full partner in refining the project, Einat Kapach who gave the project its name and breathed life into it through the connections and content she poured into it, Shelly Pikar who from the beginning of the war collected stickers and helped us create the initial database, Shlomo Kvas, Tzur Ehrlich and Atara Gavrieli.
The project's logo is a missing heart. Dynamic and continuous.
Designed using the handwriting fonts of fallen soldiers - in Hebrew the handwriting of Eitan Fish z"l, and in English the handwriting of Yael Leibushor z"l.
The fonts were taken from the "Ot.Hayim" website, a project that commemorates the handwriting of fallen soldiers.
